Happy Memorial Weekend

Well I managed to finish up for the most part my new little scooter. I put a new EPA 2009 certified 2 cycle engine on my very first bicycle frame that I built. It is a blast to ride, hits 50 mph pretty easy but at that speed there is some fear involved. I need to get a larger volume tire on it. Super fun. Running a single speed gear to get it going then you drop the clutch and away you go. I'm going to call it the EM-50 as that was the special project in the movie Stripe's and well, there you go.

Rear Drop Out replacement for SP's Trek

Fixed an older Trek bike this weekend. Rear Drop out sheared in half. Could not find a replacement so I ordered two new ones and removed the old ones. Kind of tricky getting the new drops in the old miters but it worked out well and the alignment is spot on. Fun project.

City Club

Went to the City Club forum on Friday. Man 18 builders. Every builder had their painted bikes dressed to the Nines on display. My bike was dressed to the two's. Eric from Coat was there. I bet he was a proud fella with all of his childern on display. Tony P's city bike that he brought was a NeHI Grape soda color but it was mesmerizing, almost like the paint was still wet. Tony made fun of my bike as it was the only bike not painted. "What you can't paint?" Funny. There was a large crowd that showed up. 100-200 folks maybe? Maus was there snapping photos. The speakers were great, Jay, Mia and Nichols talking about bikes and the future. Nichols had an interesting point that the majority of health problems are self inflicted, bad food choices, Alcohol, Smoking, sitting around...etc. It was great to finally get to show a bike to the public. Thanks to City Club and Amy Harris for inviting me and hooking us up with some coffee.

John's Bike is gone

Well I finally finished up John's bike. It is a Hybrid Cross centric frame. I notched a little flair in the seat Tube a (P).  I made some minor mistakes on this frame, mostly cosmetic in nature. I'm pretty proud of getting it done and off to John. He is going to build it up and give me some feedback as he uses it.

Cut

Ouch, managed to slice myself open real nice with a mitered tube end while filing, guess I missed and bam. I was in awe about how much it cut me open, could see all the ligiments and tendons moving around. Wife carted me off to the ER for 7 stitches. Compaired to the collar bone this was a walk in the park.

Alright, Back to Business

Got my broken bone almost healed up and finished up John's Prototype. Needless to say it was a whacky Prototype as I inverted the dimensions on the Bottom Bracket Drop. I ordered the Bicycle Forest Bike Cad Program to assit me in dialing in the rider fit Process. Now back to the shop to start mitering tubes and getting things done.
